This Urgent Care is the best around! Last month I went to be checked for the stomach flu because I was puking a lot and could not keep food down. I had pain in my stomach so bad that I didn't think I could walk all the way up there. I told them what was going on and the nurse did a urine test. It came back high ketone so she checked my blood glucose sugar with their meter. The number came up 461! Then the doctor came in and examined me and asked questions. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I been pre-diabetic for three years but thought I was OK because my primary checked my A1C every year and it was going down. Anyways, thanks to the clinic I got the help I needed and now I'm better with the insulin and pills. The nurse did an A1C test in the lab too. Thanks for saving my life! Great job!

This was my walk in clinic of choice, but they decided to stop taking walk ins for blood work / physical. Will not be back, and I will only go to CMA from now on.
My last few visits at Shawnee Same Day lead to misdiagnoses. I took my daughter to same day when she felt a pain during cheerleading practice an noticed a large knot I thought she had pulled something but, after waiting a while the PA came in barley examined it and then informed us that she had not hurt herself that it was just a swollen lymph node likely from cutting herself shaving and it was just the bodies way of fighting off infection though she had not cut herself and had no visible signs of infection. She's the doctor I am not so I decided she was probably right and we left. A few days later she was not any better and my instincts just seemed like something was off so I got a 2nd opinion and it turned out she had a hernia now she is scheduled for surgery in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't be so upset if 2 months ago I had not taken my other daughter there for a sore throat and after 2 full rounds of antibiotics and steroids and still not getting better we were told by the PA at same day that she just needed rest sometimes these things just need time. Luckily I didn't agree with that and took her to the ER where it took them less than 20min to diagnose her with peritonsillars (abscesses in her throat) and tell us she needed to see an ENT stat and she was then transferred to Cape where she underwent a tonsillectomy. I mean maybe this is just my run of luck I understand mistakes are made we're all human however I do not believe I will ever be taking my children to Shawnee same day ever again
I've been there twice this past two weeks for dizziness, fatigue, and headache. The first time Dr Cameron told me to make an appointment with my primary and keep it if it doesnt go away. Had the nerve to say "at least it's not a brain tumor." A friend suggested it may be anemia, I went back and had them take blood tests. They took 3 different types of tests. I had to CALL THEM to get my results and even then, no one could help me because "the nurses have to read the results." So, I had to log into the patient portal for my results. They states that, while my hemoglobin was fine, my carbon dioxide was low and total protein levels were high. I never got a call back just a note on my portal that said "keep appointment with dr newcomb for further review." In the meantime, I'm still having headaches, still dizzy, still tired, and STILL have not heard back from anyone. I'll be keeping my appointment, alright. And I'll also be switching doctors and care facilities as soon as possible. They are DOCTORS. It is NOT ok to NOT DIAGNOSE at all and leave people scared. So, I'll be finding a doctor at the center for medical arts.
