Totally awful. Lousy environment. As the building is old, electricity is very costly, e.g. heater cost me 21 kwh for only 4 hours. several tenants were cheated there. Also, the Chinese manager whose English name is Jane is very mean to tenants. She doesn't care concerns including repairing or complains about noises and bad smells in the building, etc. She lures you there for only one purpose: steal your money. Once you sign the lease with her, you doom, coz she will never let you break the contract which means that you have to pay rent until the lease ends no matter whether you are living there. However, if want to leave, what she did is to threaten them with the lease. Never ever choose University Apartment. You will regret forever if you sigh lease and live there. The Website reads that they accept visa, but actually, they only accept cash in order to avoid service charge from banks. Keep in mind that although its name is university apartment, in essense, it is not affiliated to SIU. So do not be cheated by its name. It is proprietary trading.

Very poor internet connection. It took me ten minutes to post this review. ;)

The worst rental experience I have ever had! There is usually a loud noise in the midnight. In addition, the Chinese manager whose English name is Jane is very mean to tenants. If you have any problems, she always ask you to find attorneys to help. Like Dave said before, she doesn't care concerns including repairing or complains about noises and bad smells in the building. Sincerely, do never choose University Apartment!

Disgusting and noisy place. Poor soundproof. TV, music, chat and you can even hear having sex in some room very clearly and loudly at midnight. Smells are very heavy both in your own room and corridor. The room is small and stuffy. No central air conditioning. Absence of a range hood. With nothing to catch grease splatters and vent smoke, steam, and cooking smells out of the kitchen, you have to end up fighting sticky, filmy cabinet that still smells like fish two days after cooking. In addition, the building is of poor quality because the smell of cooking from one unit permeates throughout every storey, there must be some such cracks or fissures on the wall or in the floor that the smell spreads all over. Washers and dryers are dirty, some renters prefer to wash their clothes in Laundry World rather than wash there. The photos on their website look much nicer than reality but in reality it is not so spacious and bright at all. Don't expect a deposit back, they will find any excuse to keep all or some of it. The boss is in Hongkong all the time. Only on Friday around noon can you meet the manager. The Chinese administrators are even very uncompassionate to their compatriot Chinese, let alone to non-Chinese renters. They even push him to turn to attorney for help. Be sure to open your eyes when the manager show you the unit coz she will emphasizes some indifferent stuff in order to try to misguid, disorient, confuse, throw dust in your eyes and divert your attention from drawbacks of the unit. They won't tell you the truth about the inefficient and costly utilities or absense of a range hood and stuff like that untill you sign lease with them. It's too late when you find these problems after you move in. If you want them to repair something even it is broken or doesn't work before you move in, they'll still charge you. The apartment is WAYYYY over priced compared with other apartments such as Ambassador Apt and University Edge Apt, etc. Their so-called 1 bedroom small apartment is actually a small studio the same as Ambassador Apt, but the price is about 100 dollars more expensive. Just as Dave Edward wrote above, this apartment is not affiliated to SIU although its name is University Apartment. It's a camouflage and deceit.

Reasonable place to stay, close to school. Good management team!
