PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM UNIVERSITY VILLAGE
I love UV. I have no clue why everyone has a problem. I guess they have never lived in an apartment before. I love that I don't have to pay each utility bill separately and there is Wi-Fi and cable. It's pretty reasonably priced when you add it all together. Plus they have special events like every week and give out free stuff all the time. My room is huge and I have my own bathroom so I don't have to share anything. I already signed my lease for another year. Thanks for being my home away from home UV
I have currently lived at University Village for going on 3 years. I have never once had a problem with the management. Every person who works in the office is super friendly and willing to help you with any problem that you may have. The amenities that UV provides are extremely awesome. They provide a pool, computer lab with free printing, game room, weight room, volleyball court, and a dog park. Even if you aren’t a fan of taking your dog to the dog park, each individual backyard has a large amount of space that your dog can enjoy. Another positive of UV is that all utilities are included (electric, water, and they provide a washer/dryer in every apartment). Once in awhile I have been charged an overage for my electric bill because UV is gracious enough to cover a portion of your bill. The only time you pay an overage is when you go over your allowance. Keep in mind when you go to pay your overage that it is not University Villages prices that you are paying. You are simply paying Ameren. Unfortuantely, UV has no control over the prices so if anyone has a problem with their overage they should probably call Ameren. UV is also an extremely safe place to live. I have never once felt unsafe. Every night there is a security guard named Bob who roams the property. Your pets will come to know Bob because he gives out treats to all animals which is awesome! Overall I have had no problems with University Village and I would encourage everyone to come check it out.
Where to begin? Please DO NOT move here! The staff is rude, inefficient, and incompetent. No matter how long you live here they expect you to keep a perfect and pristine apartment. You are charged for overages every month no matter what, without seeing a bill and without knowing the monthly allowance, and you do not receive proper notifications so therefore late fees are steadily rising. The late fees are taken out of your rent so therefore they will say that you owe them for rent instead of charging overages separately. University Village does everything right to get you into the apartments but everything there after is unacceptable. Management does not care about anything besides getting your money. I lived here three years and my A/C was not working for two summers, It took two years to fix it and it did not get fixed until two months before move out. They are great in the beginning until you say you no longer want to live there, they will hound you and pressure you about resigning even though you tell them you already have living arrangements.
FACT: You will have an electricity overage almost every month of around $30. They won't provide documentation like a bill. They will only text you that you have a new charge. $30 X 12 months = $360 extra that you need to plan for.
Trust the other reviews that say the same thing.
If you're one of the unfortunate ones who already signed a lease, please TAKE PICTURES when you first move in, whenever you're going out of town for extended periods, etc.
This management company is shady and rude. They don't care about you or keeping you happy as a tenant/consumer. They only want to take as much of your hard earned money as possible.
To anyone reading this. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
No, I am not being dramatic. I was once like you, reading the reviews and thinking to myself "It can't be that bad". Pay attention to these negative reviews please!
FACT: They will charge you for "cleaning/housekeeping" no matter what. Your apartment could be crystal clean and they will take a picture of one molecule of dust and charge you $200 for cleaning. They will also charge you for stuff that you didn't even do. Take pictures during move in!
You cannot break the lease if you want to. It doesn't matter if your parents died in a plane crash and you have to go back home, or you have cancer and you need to go away for treatment. The management are the worst people you will ever deal with. They are so rude and unprofessional. They will come into your apartment at anytime without letting you know in advance, they won't even knock sometimes and when you call in to complain, they will deny it. They will touch your things, throw them away, then deny it, they will even pin it on your roommates. My roommates and I made sure to be conscious when using the electricity but somehow we had an overage EVERY SINGLE MONTH, even during months when we were barely around. These people are scammers, beware! Once we moved out, they charged us bogus fees that we are not responsible for. When we contacted them, they gave us the runaround, we are still trying to get an explanation as to why we are being charged these ridiculous fees.
Honestly, if I could leave 0 stars I would.
